How to find it

Follow the waymarked GR9 from the Col du Coq past the Trou du Glaz onto the plateau above. At the signposted junction follow the path up towards the summit. After about 350 metres there is an obvious spoil heap 40 metres on the left,which is Gouffre de la Pulpite Irréversible. Continue up the track for a further 50 metres and follow a line under the trees on the right. Gouffre du Coeur is about 100 metres from the path. Note: the author has yet to see this entrance!

Further information

Gouffre du Coeur is an entrance into the Réseau des Polonais, This stream passage was originally entered from P40, and it drops into Trou du Glaz at the Salle du Dôme. Gouffre du Coeur was found from below, and its passages are reputed to be tight. It was opened up in August 2023, and available information about the cave is currently limited.
