Photograph of meer stone 33 - Grassington Moor
Location NGR Inscription
On the north side of the Legerins Vein, about 150m ESE of Bycliffe House. SE 02368 67827 RW ?
This is a 70cm high natural grit boulder overlooking the worked vein. The initials seem to be a backwards R and a W, although there also seems to be a second W inscribed at right angles to the R. This may be a reference to Robert Waterhouse who held leases in the area in the mid-1700's.
