A major thrust fault on the Petit Som

The path round the south ridge of the Petit Som known as the Pas du Loup, ascends a gully formed on a major thrust fault. To the left may be seen the hanging wall of the fault; below that is a breccia formed as the result of one mass of rock being forced over another. The gully has been formed within the more easily eroded fault breccia.
