Devil's Arrow, Boroughbridge
Hand-painted silk collage 8 x 18.5 cm.
The Devil's Arrows are three large (up to 22 feet) millstone grit monoliths over 300 years old. Two stand in a farmed field adjacent to the busy A1, the third depicted here being separated by a small road coming west out of Boroughbridge. These magnificent columns are not far from the triple henge at Thornborough.
I work in silk collage for a crisp line and glowing colour, and strive to convey the atmosphere and drama of Britain's landscapes and monuments.
