The Gorge, worked in silk collage

The Gorge

Hand-painted silk collage
13.5 x 19 cm.
£79 framed

This piece came about whilst simultaneously working on a composition of Trollers Gill in the Yorkshire Dales and revisiting some old work based on butterfly wings - the two elements came together to create a view of the gill as if looking skywards with the gorge walls on either side.

I work in silk collage for a crisp line and glowing colour, and strive to convey the atmosphere and drama of Britain's landscapes and monuments.
